The Rajgir Ropeway is one of the oldest and most popular attractions in Rajgir, offering visitors a thrilling and scenic ride to the top of the Vishwa Shanti Stupa (World Peace Pagoda) located on the Ratnagiri Hill. This single-seater ropeway, built in 1969, is not only a mode of transportation but an exhilarating experience that showcases the natural beauty of Rajgir’s hills and valleys.
The ropeway covers a distance of approximately 1.5 kilometers and takes visitors up the hill in just 7 minutes. The journey offers breathtaking views of the lush greenery, dense forests, and the surrounding hills. As visitors ascend, they can enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the Rajgir cityscape and historical sites like the Cyclopean Wall and Gridhakuta Hill.
